FALL AGENDA

After a brief 15-20 minute presentation of the activities of the Faith-Justice Institute (including the immersions that it sponsors), the remaining time would be devoted to a structure conversation concerning key issues and dilemmas confronting universities that sponsor such trips.

A tentative list of such issues follows below; however, I'd be glad to accept additional input regarding high-priority topics or additional topics to consider.

  • Selection of Locations & Criteria for Immersion Site Selection
  • Nurturing / Strengthening International Partnerships
  • Possible Ways to Collaborate/Coordinate/Communicate with Other Universities
  • What Works in Immersion Reflection Activities
  • The Benefits and Drawbacks of For-Credit Immersion Experiences
  • Logistical Issues
(Cost, Risk Management, Emergency Health Care)
  • Preparation for Service Trips
  • "Keeping the Conversion" upon Return
